Who is this masked man? Originally,
he was one of six lawmen ambushed by
a gang of owlhoots in southwest
Texas. Later, his face masked, his true identity unknown, he reappeared to
mete out punishment to the gang and bring law and order to the land. His
values, his concept of morality, and unfailing loyalty to the friend he rode
with inspired legions of followers. Charles Flanders illustrated his adventures
in the comic strips until '71. Ten years later, the New York Times' special
features syndicate launched a new strip drawn by Russ Heath.
Look for him soon in a new western adventure for Disney. His face masked, his true name unknown, he'll thunder across the
screen upon a silver white stallion to battle lawlessness and then vanish
as mysteriously as he came, leaving behind what else but a silver bullet,
the symbol and calling card of . . . The Lone Ranger!
"Hi-Yo, Silver! Away!"
